Jason Lenhart
Growing up I was very interested in the environment and sports, throughout my University days, I competed in the national championships, and my senior year we were nationally ranked 12th and ranked number one in the east. As fate would have it we lost to Princeton in the quarterfinals and that loss (the only loss we had all season) ended our hopes. However a great run. When I graduated, I was at crossroads where on direction led me to an MA and a career as a Marriage and Family counselor or do I listen to the advice of a golf professional I worked for all through college and pursue a career as a Golf Professional. I explored both and went to Florida in 1985 to pursue the career of a club pro. My career took off, and I found myself opening new courses or coming to courses that were in trouble and turned them around. In 1999 I joined Billy Casper Golf that took me back to Northeast. I spent the time in the North East as a regional manager and assisted in the growth of the company as well as the opening of new courses and having wayward courses back on track. 2012 I made a decision that I would look to move back to Florida as that is where my kids were so when the opening at Ocala Golf Club became available I threw my name in the hat. I was welcomed in October of 2015 by the city and have enjoyed my experience here in Ocala. October of 2017 we celebrated a new contract with the City. One of the events that caught my attention was “Symphony Under the Stars” the fact that this event is held at Ocala Golf club ensured me that this a place that I would like to be. So here I am starting my first year on FAFO’s board. Looking forward to the journey and the fun along the way.
