Christine Renc-Carter, 2018 FAFO Art Festival Judge

Christine Renc-Carter has cultivated a unique artistic career rooted in the arts community of Tampa Bay. Coming from a family of working artists, she finds creative balance between her work as a museum curator and an artist. With nearly 20 years of experience in museums and galleries, Christine became the newly appointed curator for the Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art in Tarpon Springs, Florida in 2016.

Prior to her current curator role, Christine oversaw the expansion of the Dunedin Fine Art Center’s studios and art classes as the Director of Adult Education. Christine has developed major exhibitions at the Florida International Museum and managed art collections for the Baltimore Museum of Art, Vero Beach Museum of Art, Gulf Coast Museum of Art and St. Petersburg College.

With a BFA in printmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, Maryland, Christine is also an accomplished artist. Having shown nationally, her work is included in collections such as the Marriott Corporation and the Curator of the Fogg Museum at Harvard University. Represented by the Painted Fish Gallery in Dunedin, FL, she shows her mixed media work alongside her parents, Bill and Linda Renc. Christine has also judged a roster of outdoor art festivals throughout Florida, as well as national scholarship competitions, from the dual perspective of an artist and curator.
